News Outlook January 07, 2021 - 3 OBITUARIES/COMMUNITY CECIL ROBERT BOLNER II a! Cecil Robert Bolner, I], 86, of Owingsville, Ken- tucky passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home. He was born De- cember 2, 1934 in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Cecil R. Bolner. Cecil was a retired elec— trician and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing and visiting with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Pres- ton First Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Edna Sorrel] Bolner, one brother, Jim Bolner and his wife, Betty of Lexington, Kentucky, nephews, Char— lie Sorrell and James Sor- rel] both of Owingsville and Chris (Christy) Bolner of Oklahoma, two nieces, Rita Copher of Owingsville and Stacy Bargo of Lexington. Funeral services were con- ducted at 2:00 PM. Tues- day, December 15, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Ow- ingsville with Pastor Terry Frerichs officiating. Downey, 84, of Olympia, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Albion, New York on No- vember 9, 1936 to the late Jesse Downey and Edith Adams Downey. Keith was a graduate of Alfred Uni— versity in New York. He worked as a self-employed electrical contractor, but the most important thing to him was serving as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In fact, he moved from Owas- .. D co, New York to Kentucky 5::3 ' in 1974 solely for the pur- pose of joining the Mount Sterling congregation of J e- hovah’s Witnesses, in order to spend more time there in preaching the good news of God’s kingdom. (Matt 24:14) He had absolute faith in the promise of a res- urrection and we know that we will see him again soon. (John 5:28,29) Keith was a musician and played the piano, organ, bass, vibes and ukulele. He loved wood crafting and made custom signs, jewelry box- es, funeral urns, games and pens. He was a pilot, flying small aircraft and rode Har- ley Davidson motorcycles. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He will be remembered as a most humble, honest, hard-working and loving man. Keith is survived by two daughters; Rebecca A. Murphy of Mt Sterling and Carolyn D. Smith (Rodney) of Lexington; one grand- daughter; Rachel M. Book (Scott) of Versailles; one brother; Everett “Fren- chy” Downey and many dear nieces and nephews. KATHRYN IDRINE PORTER HEDGES Mrs. Kathryn Lorine Porter Hedges, 75, of Bethel, passed away Fri-v day, December 11, 2020 at the St Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was born on September 15, 1945 in Mt. Sterling, to the late William Ivan Porter and Carry Elizabeth “Sib— by” Porter. Kathryn was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers and spending time with her family. She was also a very active member of the East Fork Church of God. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Billy Davis Hedges and ' three brothers, William Porter Jr., Jessie Demaree Porter and Baby Porter.
