News Outlook Your Hometown Newspaper February 2, 2012-13 SPORTS LadyCats drop road game to Morgan The Bath County La- dy Cats faced an oppo- nent from the 16th Region for the second straight game on Monday night. Bath County visited Mor- gan County for a matchup against the Lady Cougars. The Lady Cats were un- able to carry any momen- tum from a victory over Fairview two days earlier into Monday's game. Host Morgan County fended off Bath County's challenge, defeating the Lady Cats 61-43. Bath County shot 25 per- cent (13-of-52) from the field. The Lady Cats were also limited from beyond the arc. Bath County was 1-of-17 from 3-point range. The Lady Cats had their chances at the foul line. Bath County hit just un- der half of its free throw at- tempts, finishing 16-for-35 from the charity stripe. Eighth-grader Sarah Price led Bath County with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Tayler Rogers accompa- nied Price in double fig- ures in the Bath County scoring column. Rogers registered 11 points in the setback. Morgan Howard, Megan Leach and Sierra Sparks supported the Bath Coun- ty scoring effort with four points apiece. Lexy Grimes scored three points and Hannah Mann and Amber Martin added two apiece for the Lady Cats.
