Wisdom In Words By Kathleen Perry Have you ever wondered what a particular old saying means? How about "pull yourself up by your boot- straps"? I have found out it means that when you know you should do something but have neither the will or the in- clination, you have to just get up and make yourself do it! I did that yesterday. For six months I hadn't been to our cabin; The boys gave them each a quick shot of Raid! Just in casel pushed on. The refrigerator needed wiping before I restocked it. Mike had previously cleared out all the six month old stuff. I filled the shelves in the tiny refrigerator with bottled water, Diet Pepsi, Vi- enna Sausages, potted meat, and packaged dry food like Nabs, Pop Tarts, Graham Crackers and ....two boxes of Girl Scout cookies that my Brownie granddaughter Gracie had been selling. a few months ago that I had kept in I, the freezer. off the porches when Mike came and said he would bring his leaf blower over and do that. Great! I gladly hung the broom back up on the wall. Greg came by and I thanked him again for all the cleanup work he had done at my home this past week fol- lowing the flood on Septem- ber 9. As I drove home that day I realized it didn't sound like I had done much. But I had. I had pulled my- self up by my bootstraps and it felt good!
