OBITUARIES
JEAN HARLOW(MAZE) JEWELL
Jean Harlow (Maze) Jew-
ell, 86, of Anderson, passed
away on February 7, 2021,
at the St. Vincent Hospital
in Indianapolis, IN. She was
born on October 11, 1934,
in Salt Lick, Kentucky, and
resided most of her life in
Anderson. Jean attended
Bath County High School
in Kentucky. She worked
at Red Lobster in Anderson
and then became a home-
maker. Jean's family was
so important to her. She
was a loving mother, grand-
mother, great-grandmother,
and aunt. She is survived by
her loving children, Cathy
(Rick) Cole, Lisa (Tony)
Price, Tammy Nivens,
Larry (Alicia) Jewell, all of
Anderson, IN; grandchil-
dren, Brandi (I‘odd) Cole
Barhorst, Casey (Adam)
Hinkle, Nathan (Maggie)
Price, Scott Price, and
Noah Nivens; and great-
grandchildren, Nathalie,
Maddie, Benjamin, Jaxon,
Tessa, Greyson, and Eden.
Also surviving are several
nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by
her husband of 55 years,
Allen T. Jewell; infant son,
Edward Allen Jewell; par-
ents, Laban and Lena Pearl
(Goldy) Maze; son-in-law,
David Nivens; siblings, Lo-
rine Maze, Labe Maze, Jr.,
Minnie Pearl Maze, Charles
Maze, Margaret Steger; and
nephews, Arthur (Cotton)
Maze and Gregory Mc-
Clurg. Visitation was held
Wednesday, February 10,
2021, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at
Loose Funeral Homes &
Crematory, 200 West 53rd
Street Anderson, IN. Servic-
es followed visitation at 1:00
pm at the funeral home with
James M. Harrison officiat-
ing. Burial took place in the
Anderson Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions
may be made to the Ameri-
can Heart Association.

Charlene White Tufono,
age 79, of Frenchburg,KY,
passed away Monday,
February 8,2021 at her
home. She was born
August 29,1941 in Law-
rence Co.,KY to the late
Clarence and Darthula
Tackett White. Surviv-
ing are one son, Carlas
Eugene Tufono (Dona)
of Frenchburg,KY. One
daughter, Charlotte Re-
nee Teague (Paul) of
Mt. Sterling, KY. Three
grandchildren: Kelly
(Danielle) Tufono, Carla
(Michael) Mastromatto,
Callie Teague. Seven
great-grandchildren: Alex,
Anna, Elijah, Kyndall,
Addy Belle, Audrey, Ben-
jamin. Six siblings; Hubert
White (Wilma), Harold
‘White, Alonzo White, Do-
ris Ballard (Lloyd), Ralph
White (Peggy), and En-
gene White (Alma). She
was preceded in death by
her parents, Clarence and
Darthula Tackett White,
and husband, Carl Tufono

Vern Pascal Kier, 75,
of Salt Lick, passed away
Tuesday February 9,
2021 at Harmony Court
Nursing and Rehabilita-
tion Facility in Cincinnati,
OH.
Born October 8, 1944
at Shenandoah, Iowa a
son of the late Vern and
Martha Bartles Kier. He
was a retired employee
of Whirlpool Corp. and at-
tended the Young’s Valley
Community Church.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Larry
Gene Kier and a step-
daughter, Anita Wetter.
Survivors include his
beloved wife, Millie Wills
Kier, 3 sons, Ricky Kier
of Frenchburg, KY, Mike
Kier (Stacy) of Owings-
ville, KY and James Kier
of Salt Lick, KY, 1 step
daughter, Jennifer Maze
of Mount Sterling, KY
and 1 step-son, Rick Coyle
(Cindy) of Owingsville,
KY, 1 sister, Verna Kier of
Omaha, NE, 6 grandchil-
dren and 1 great-grand-
child.
