It also takes a commitment to the customers to provide them the best possible products and services avail- able. The more knowledgeable a Postmaster has about policy, proce- dure, products and services, the bet- ter they are able to meet the needs of their customers. Linda Willoughby, who has been clerk at the Owingsville Post Office for several years, has accepted the position of Postmaster at the Elliot- tville Post Office in Rowan County. Willoughby has completed nu- merous training and development courses during her career with the postal service and has gone on spe- cial assignments and filled in for Postmasters to help enhance her skills and opportunities. In addition to distribution of mail and customer service at the Owings- ville Post Office, Willoughby has served as a Career Day representa- tive, providing talks and tours to the elementary students in the area. Willoughby became employed with the postal system at the Olym- pia Post office in 1992 and was later hired as a career employee at the Owingsville Post Office in 1996. Over the past several years, she has been active in Customer Appre- ciation Days, local food drives and mission efforts, trash clean-ups and environmental projects, Brownie Troop leadership, coaching Jr. Pro Cheerleading, serving on the Bethel Elementary Site-Based Council, and various committees in addition to participation in many other commu- nity activities too numerous to men- tion. She is also a member of the Sugar Grove Christian Church in Bath County. Willoughby says, "I have enjoyed serving the people of Bath County and have made friendships and have fond memories that will last a life- time. I will truly miss both my cus- tomers and colleagues, but at the same time, I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead in my new position as Postmaster of the Elliot- tville Post Office, in Rowan Coun- ty.
