Winter is still here
but anymore you can’t tell
the season by the weather!
I can’t decide whether to
turn on the furnace or the
AC. For the past week
or so, it’s been a variety!
Days like these make you
really thankful for BOTH
the Air Conditioner AND
the furnace.
Then I remember
when I was growing up,
we didn’t have AC or even
a fan! It was at this point
that I begin to feel like a
wimp. But a grateful wimp.
Quite often during
this February-March, it of-
ten clouds up and snows or
rains at the drop of a hat!

A few days ago, while
minding my own business
and watching an old TV
re—run, a mouse suddenly
came from behind the
couch a few feet from me
and ran into the kitchen!
Oh! My goodness!
I was in luck as I
remembered where I had
put the mouse traps a
couple of years ago when
we had last used them. I
thought the mouse I had

Or maybe it’s a new family

I checked the house
over for possible places a
mouse could get in. Found
two places in the kitchen
and then set the traps
there, with a dab of peanut
butter on each one.
The next morning
I could barely wait to see
if I had caught anything!
When I rounded the cor-
ner into the kitchen, there
was only ONE trap in
sight! Upon investigating, I
found the other trap about
three feet way. . ..with a
LIVE mouse in it! A mouse
is not my most feared pest,
but it comes in a close sec-
ond!!!
How do you get rid
of a live mouse in a trap???
I very gingerly
picked up the trap, threw it
outon the porch, then
done-it-in, in ways'I won’t
describe.

I asked for and got
advice on how to plug up
those holes the mouse
had used to get into the
kitchen. I was told to get
a tube of goo that closely
resembled that green stuff
the woman put in her hair
and then got rich off of it.
I followed up by
ordering from Wal Mart
a couple of tubes of that
stuff which was delivered
in two days. Tomorrow I
will carefully fill those two
holes with this goop and
pray that it is mouse proof!
Still being in the
“stay at home, personal
distance, and wear a mask
phase of my life” I won’t
venture out today but just
stay put and mind my own
business from my recliner.
Maybe I can find a good
re-run that I haven’t seen
more than a couple of
times!
Maybe Gunsmoke or
The Waltons. Or maybe
The Golden Girls.
