Prior to the Lady Cat Invitational, Bath County defeated Elliott county with a good game at the plate, pounding out eight hits and taking eight walks to win 18-4. Morgan "Mo" Howard stole the show with an inside the park homerun and three runs batted in. Teammates Kelsey Thomason, Haley Mc- Farland, and Megan Penick joined in the slug- ging contest by blasting doubles into the outfield. These three accounted for five of the eight hits. Shae Wright and Amber Martin along with How- ard's were the remaining hits. The leading "taker" of the night was Taylor Caudill. She walked three times and scored each of those times. During the tourna- ment the Lady Cats lost three games with two of the losses being dose. Bath County lost to Scott 7-6 in extra innings and then lost to Cooper High school in 11-7. Shelby County was the only team that easily handled the Lady Cats as they won 15- 4. Penick, McFarland and Brittany McClain were the only players to hit the ball in that game. Bath County then came back and beat an exhausted Elliott County in the last game of the tournament 17-2. The scoring high- fight of this game was co- captain Megan Penick's inside the park homerun. The Lady Cats' other two wins came from their spring break road trip to Louisville. The Lady Cats played Waggener and Portland Christian.
