On Thursday night the
Bath County Lady Cats
took the field against
Morgan County for a triD

night. Early in the game,
Morgan County had all

runs in the first inning
off a homerun and ar -

making it 4-0. The Lady
Cats couldn't get their
bats going until the third
inning where they scored
2 runs, making the score
5-2. The fourth inning
was huge for Bath Coun-
ty as they pulled within

Cats took control fl-om

Lady Cats Look for
Trip to State
On Friday night,
Bath County took on
Raceland in the finals of
the 16th Region All "A"
Tournament. The game
started off strong from
both teams. The score
was tied at the end of each
inning until the fourth
when Raceland took a
slight lead 8-6. Early in
the game, Bath County's
bats were hot, but ended
up scoreless after the
fourth inning. Raceland
remained in control of-
fensively and defensively
until the last out. The
final score, Raceland 10,
Bath County 6. McKenna
Moore ended the game
with an impressive eight
strikeouts. Raceland will
be making a trip to Ow-
ensboro to compete in
the All "A" State Tourna-
ment.
Bath County fell short in
a bid to return to the win
column on the road earlier
in the week. Host Rowan
County outlasted Bath
County 5-3 in a 61st District
baseball game on Monday.
With the win, Rowan
County improved to 13-6
overall and 3-0 in the 61st
District.
Bath County dropped to
13-8 overall and 2-2 in the
district with the loss.
The Wildcats, under the
tutelage of first-year head
coach Patrick Armitage,
flirted with victory in the
district game.
On the mound, Bath
County pitchers Seth Ad-
ams, Tyler McKenzie and
Nathan Davis held the Row-
an County bats in check.
Bath County led 3-2 in
the fifth inning but couldnVt
make the lead stick.
At the plate for the Wild-
cats, Taylor McFarland
smacked a deep two-run
homerun.
Rowan County, however,
pulled out the hard-fought
win. The Vikings delivered
a few hits late to claim the
district win.
The Wildcats slipped
back into the loss column
after clobbering homes-
tanding St. Patrick 17-2
over the weekend.
Bath County is sched-
uled to host Rowan County
for another district game
on Thursday. First pitch
for the Bath County-Rowan
County baseball game is
set for 5:30 p.m.
