Every time I shop there I exit by way of Back Street. Yes, there often are bun- dles of fence posts and or equipment there stacked along Peck's back fence. However, the concern over driver and pedes- trian safety is misplaced. Back Street is not exactly a thoroughfare. Probably, the only ones using it are Peck's customers. I would hope that Mayor Clemens and the Sharpsburg City Council would have more important issues to occu- py their time. The article makes it sound as if Tom Gregory is "on the run" staying one step ahead of the law. In fact, serving this summons is probably low in the order of impor- tant issues being handled by Kim Price's and the Sheriff's office. David W. Brokaw 3243 Springfield Rd. Owingsville, KY 40360 Dear Editor and all citi- cens of Bath County, I have lived in Bath County for 19 years. For e past 12-15 years, there has been a desperate need for an animal shelter here. The county has an agree- ment with Tri-County Shel- her in Rowan County but due to the county having to pay a $10.00 a day impound dogs and cats since 2007. I speak for this group in this letter. We have only had 2 or 3 fosters for the entire county. That means that many dogs and cats slip through the cracks and are abandoned, starved, beat- en and frozen. We have had dogs frozen to the ground and to picnic tables. We saved the dog frozen to the picnic table but not her I know there are many responsible and caring pet owners and concerned citizens, but where are you? We need your help and we need you to speak for the dogs and cats of Bath County. I doubt there is one person that hasn't heard some of the stories or seen first-hand the ani- mal abuse. We have been at the last fee, they have never taken pups In 11 years only one 2 Fiscal Court meetings h, dog,th . - ibit s ia t 6ii f ff6i to::asl foi Iieti imd ve 6 ff CoutityHti- help il ili 'Sod ty has' abuse cI : raise funds for flii helter. Why does it seem there is money for everything else? We hope they will see a way to help them, help us and the animals of Bath County. We have had Menifee County Shelter.
