Paul Hitchcock, a 16-year veteran of MSPR and former music and production director, has been named the new gener- al manager. He replaces Dan Conti, who left Morehead State University to pursue other career opportunities. "I am grateful for this oppor- tunity at Morehead State Public Radio," said Hitchcock. "We have an extraordinary staff of professionals, students and vol- unteers, and I look forward to working with them in this new position. "Dan did a wonderful job for us as general manager and worked extremely hard in the formation of the MSPR net- work. I extend my appreciation for his hard work and dedica- tion." Conti was instrumental in the formation of the Morehead State Public Radio network, adding WOCS-FM in Owsley County. He also increased MSPR's membership and underwriting base. Hitchcock started with MSPR (then known as WMKY) in 1986, serving mostrecently as the network's program and production director. He re- ceived a Bachelor's Degree in radio/TV-journalism from Georgetown College and a Master's Degree in Communications from MSU. In addition to his managerial duties, Hitchcock hosts "Acoustic Highway" and "Nothin' But The Blues". He was a finalist for the same award this year for "Americana Crossroads Live". The 22-year broadcasting veteran looks forward to the opportunity of serving the lis- teners of Morehead State Public Radio, providing public radio programming that is entertain- ing, informational and educa- tional.
