Last Thursday evening
friends, family, and sur-
vivors gathered at the
Frenchburg Farmers Mar-
ket to raise awareness of
breast cancer as part of
Breast Cancer Awareness
Week across the rest of the
cotmtry.
Shannon Lawson and
Jennifer Rogers were or-
ganizers of the event. Law-
son said that there are 2.5
million breast cancer sur-
vivors in the United States
today, including 30 in Me-
nifee County.
Lawson and Rogers have
already organized Sister
Survivors, a support group
for cancer survivors.

been a whole lot harder
without the support of
friends andf, amily, Law-
son said.
