Economic Recov-
ery
Much has been said re-
cently, about economic re-
covery. The American vot-
ers will decide whom they
think has the best policy.
But one thing has not been
mentioned by any politi-
cian that I would like for us
to consider as we reason
together this week.
God chose Israel as His
own special nation in the
days of Moses. God told
that nation that economic
recovery and stability was
His domain. Moses said,
' (ou shall remember the
Lord (Jehovah).your God,
for it is He who gives you
the power to get wealth"
(Deuteronomy 8:18).
Looking at the shape of
the economy one might
ask, "Is God against us? If
He gives the power to get
wealth why are we broke
as a nation?" Should we
blame God for the eco-
nomic crisis or should we
ask ourselves have we for-
oRen God?
The truth is we have means more than saying
forgotten God and put our "God bless America". It
trust in man. We have means to remember His

God held a dedication cer-
emony for the new parking
lot adjacent to the Church.
A parking lot may seem like
an odd thing to dedicate,
and may not be a glamor-
ous thing like a bridge or
an ocean liner, but it makes
life nicer for everyone, and
welcomes them to our little
country Church. The sign
that now rests in the area
of the lot recognizes Nellie
Gray and Family for donat-
ing the land in memory of
John, Helen and Bill Gray.
This will be a reminder to
us of The Gray family won-
derful spirit. Following the
dedication a dinner was
held in their honor. We can
sum it up as in the closing
song of the service sang by
Adam Hawkins and Amy
Konopka 'fl'hank You For
Giving To The Lord". Pas-
tor Randy Hawkins and the
Oakley congregation invite
everyone to come and be a
part of our little church.
