Becki Thomas and her mother, Katie Tackett, are the own- ers of Sew Spectacular, a boutique located at 33 South Court St in Owings- vile. Wanda Swartz and her daughter, Megan Swartz, are the owners of Kountry Krafts and Florals, located at 16 W Main St also in Ow- ingsville. Both businesses are led by strong success- ful mother/daughter teams and are thriving in our small community. Sew Spectacular is a unique boutique that has been providing for the past few years personalization and monogramming to give your items and gifts a special touch. "How do you know it's yours if it's not monogrammed," said co- owner of Sew Spectacular Katie Tackett. Embroidery, appliques, and children's boutique outfits are just some of the items that Sew Spectacular offers. Some of their best selling items in- dude slouchy sweatshirts, custom outfits, and items featuring Disney's Frozen character Elsa. BeckiTh0m- as stated that the business "started out as a hobby and took over my house; I live an l work here, so we de- cided to keep the business not only made a career out of their hobby, but they are the g0-to business in town for personalized gifts. Kountry Krafts and Flo- rals, located on Main St., is easy to find if you just look for their beautiful window displays, like the current display featuring a glit- tery winter scene. Kountry Krafts and Florals has been in business for over four years but recently relocated from their previous location in Olympia to their new lo- cation in Owingsville. They are well known for their wreaths; Wanda stated that "people come from Lexing- ton, Frankfort, and even Louisville to purchase our wreaths." Wanda also hopes that her daughter Megan will continue to operate the store even after she is gone. It can sometimes be a daunting task working with family, but these two fami- lies have worked together to create successful business- es and a lot of satisfied cus- tomers. So if you are in town, drop by Kountry Krafts and Florals to check out some ot their unique items to make your house more like home, and Sew Spectacular to pick up a unique personalized gift that you are sure to get compliments on.
